Hamilton Princess & Beach Club has unveiled a new series of wine events for the first quarter of 2019.

The first of the monthly events, the Chef and Sommelier Blind Wine Pairing Dinner, will take place from 6:30pm on Friday, January 25 and will be a blind tasting of six different French wines accompanied by regionally inspired dishes prepared by the team at Marcus’. The evening will conclude with a light-hearted game that will put the diners’ new found skills to the test, with a magnum of wine up for grabs for the winning team.

Marcus’ Head Chef, Danai Hongwanishkul, has taken care to create a six-course menu that perfectly complements the wines. Guests will be treated to French dishes such as Pithivier de Agneau, a braised loin of lamb with garlic and mushroom, and Tartine de St Jacques et Crevette, a Gallic take on scallop and shrimp toasts.

In February, a champagne will be celebrated in a dinner that will set out to prove that it’s not just a drink for toasting with, exploring the history and evolution of the popular drink. March will see wine connoisseurs take a deep dive into the wine business by finding out all about Penfolds, a prominent Australian wine estate. Details of these will be announced closer to the time.

Alexandra Taflan, Sommelier at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, said: “We are delighted to offer a wine programme at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club which will combine sensory education with a fun social occasion. This is a fantastic way to try a wide new selection of wines and to really discover what it is that you like about wine.”

Tickets for the Chef and Sommelier Blind Wine Pairing Dinner cost $160 per person, plus gratuities, and can be purchased from www.PTIX.bm.
