DHL named as silver sponsor for End-to-End
Courier firm DHL has signed up as a silver sponsor for the annual End-to-End charity event.
About 3,000 people are expected to take part in the May endurance test, whose main sponsor is insurance and reinsurance giant Axa
Peter Aldrich, DHL’s Bermuda manager, said: “The Axa End-to-End event is donating to some great charities this year and DHL is pleased to support the efforts of the participants who take part.”
He added: “We appreciate the opportunity to have DHL recognised for providing the shipping of important event supplies to the island. It’s important to be part of the community.”
Anne Mello, the End-to-End chairwoman, said: “DHL really stepped in to help in a big way. Shipping of 3,000 back packs, T-shirts, water bottles and medals is a big expense and it’s imperative that all goods arrive in time and intact.
“Having DHL as a sponsor in 2019 is much appreciated.”
Participants can walk, cycle, row, paddle, or swim across, or around the island.
The year’s beneficiaries are youth adventure scheme Raleigh International, Windreach, an outdoors centre for the disabled, Age Concern and Friends of Hospice.
Registration for the May 4 event will open in mid-March.
