The Ministry of Public Works today released the 2019/2020 Garbage and Recycling Schedule (attached), which can be found on the Government portal at www.gov.bm/garbage-and-recycling.

The publication will also be mailed to households so that residents can have their own copy of the calendar.

The public is aware that the Ministry has switched to a once-a-week garbage collection system to more efficiently collect from households. So, the aim of the calendar is to assist residents with having the accurate collection dates for their refuse.

The publication also offers some useful information on the types of waste (batteries, paints, e-waste) collected and some steps residents can take to prevent both unwanted odours and vermin.

Lastly, the Ministry recognises that there may be some occasions when there are delays in waste collection. In such instances, the public is encouraged to call the Marsh Folly Depot at 292-1517. For missed recycling collections email recycle@gov.bm or call 501-3043.
