Tomorrow evening is the Opening Ceremony of the MS Amlin World Triathlon

Bermuda and a full weekend of festivities follows with events on Friday night, Race Day on Saturday

and Hamilton shopping on Sunday.

With this, organisers are encouraging the public to plan ahead as they come to enjoy the festivities.

To help the public be fully aware of the traffic modifications that will be in place around Hamilton on

Friday, April 26th and Saturday, April 27th a series of videos has been posted to the tribermuda.com

website.

There will be some road closures, but Hamilton remains accessible for business, with stores and

restaurants extending their hours. More information, maps, and all transport options can be found at

Thursday April 25

Opening Ceremony & Harbour Nights – Front Street will have the same road closure as the weekly

Harbour Nights.

Friday April 26

Road closures

These will be in effect along Front Street from 5.45pm to 9pm for the RenaissanceRe Kids Duathlon.

This will be the same area as Harbour Nights.

Parking closures

There will be no street parking from 6am Friday and all day Saturday at the following locations, as

spectator barricades are placed along the race course:

•Front Street

•Reid Street

•Queen Street

• Burnaby Hill.

City Hall car park is closed all day Friday and Saturday, reopening by Sunday morning.

Free Park N Ride is offered to commuters who plan to spend the day in the city and wish to leave

their cars and bikes outside the city to travel into Hamilton.

Free Park N Ride from the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens – a shuttle service will run from 7.30am

to 10.30pm to/from Church Street, the drop off and pick up point is across from HSBC Bank, Church

Street. The bus will leave the parking area every hour from 7.30am, and leave Hamilton every hour

from 8am.

Enhanced ferry service: the summer schedule will operate as normal between Hamilton and

Dockyard, with two extra services running at 7.30pm and 9pm.

Also, there will be additional commuter ferries to:

• Hamilton from Darrell’s Wharf at 11.50am and 12.20pm

• Hodson’s Ferry at 12pm and 12.30pm.

Saturday April 27

Roads around the racecourse will be closed to motorised vehicles from 4.00am, and the police will

direct traffic from that time. The central area in Hamilton will be closed to traffic until 8.30pm, while

roads that were used only for the morning age group races, will reopen by 12 noon.

Access Hamilton from the north

Entry into the city is from the north. The following roads will remain open as usual:

• Victoria Street to the north.

• Tee Street and Brighton Hill

The following roads remain open, however motorists are asked to be patient as there may be some

delays:

• Happy Valley

• Marsh Folly

• Parsons Road

• North Shore

• South Road.

Free Saturday Park N Ride: from the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens – a shuttle service will run

from 8am to 7.30pm to/from Church Street, across from HSBC Bank, the drop off and pick up point is

across from HSBC Bank, Church Street. The bus will leave the parking area every hour from 8am, and

leave Hamilton every hour from 8.30am.

There will be overflow parking at CedarBridge Academy and spectators can catch the shuttle bus

from the Arboretum into Hamilton.

Enhanced ferry service: the summer schedule will operate as normal between Hamilton and

Dockyard, with an extra service running at 7.45pm.

Buses: The main Hamilton Bus Terminal will move from 6am to 12pm on Saturday to the intersection

of Cedar Ave and Victoria St. Buses will enter and exit Hamilton on the regular published schedule,

however some bus routes will use different roads to enter Hamilton.

The MS Amlin World Triathlon Bermuda on April 27th, 2019 is the second of three annual World

Series Triathlon events that Bermuda will host; in 2021 the island will be home to the ITU Grand Final
