Horseshoe Bay Beach has been closed to swimmers over safety concerns.
A Department of Parks spokeswoman said that the popular tourist spot had been closed “due to high surf conditions and severe rip currents”.
She added: “The double red flags to indicate that swimming is prohibited have been raised.
“Additionally, the department has installed high surf warning signs on all South Shore beaches.
“Patrons are expected to adhere to all warning signs, flags and to follow all directions from lifeguards on duty.”
