Foggo: job fair in Hamilton next week
Government will host a job fair in Hamilton next Wednesday to help more Bermudians join the workforce.
Lovitta Foggo, Minister of Labour, Community Affairs and Sport, said the aim of the job fair is to pair the unemployed or under employed with potential employers.
She said: “Our Government is committed to introducing meaningful solutions aimed at improving people’s lives.
“We envision a Bermuda where there is a prosperous economy that works for everyone, and a critical part of that means providing jobs for Bermudians.”
The job fair, to be held at Pier Six between 3pm and 5pm on October 30, will offer jobs in hospitality, retail, customer service, automotive, Government, healthcare and the restaurant industry among others.
Ms Foggo added: “The Department of Workforce Development is partnering with a number of employers to host a job fair, and we are thankful for their willingness to collaborate with us.
“We encourage anyone who is unemployed or underemployed to attend so they can take advantage of the opportunities that are available.
“In advance of the job fair, we’re asking interested persons to visit the DWD to ensure they’re registered and job ready by having their resumes updated and any skills development completed.”
