The Green family has made a donation of $5,000 to the newly established Bermuda College Foundation.

The Bermuda College Foundation, which recently put out a call for support, aims to raise funds to improve and modernise the facilities at Bermuda College.

Established in 1974, Bermuda College is the only post-secondary educational institute on the island and offers a wide range of courses. Students can work towards associate degrees, certificates and diplomas, with some students able to transfer to colleges overseas to complete their education. Each year, approximately a thousand students take classes at the College.

Ralph Richardson, Consultant for the Bermuda College Foundation, said: “We are grateful to the Green family for their generous donation. With their support and of all of those who help us, we aim to provide Bermuda’s public with a college that can provide a first-rate education on island.”

Andrew Green, on behalf of the Green family, said: “We are glad to support the Bermuda College Foundation in their mission to modernise Bermuda College’s facilities. Education is so important and given how expensive it can be to pursue further education, we are committed to ensuring that a good education is available locally for those who want it. So many Bermudians have benefitted from Bermuda College and we hope that generations more will continue to do so.”
