The Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Senator the Hon. Kathy Lynn Simmons, JP invites you to join Mirrors, in partnership with Berkeley Institute PTSA, for a discussion with Professor Alfred “Coach” Powell on raising and engaging our children to successfully navigate the real issues of society that have a direct impact on the quality of their lives. It is a life or death discussion that must occur to save our children.

Alfred “Coach” Powell is an internationally recognized award winning keynote speaker, lecturer and an Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor at the School of Social Welfare Health Sciences, State University of New York at Stony Brook. His groundbreaking research into street culture, the marketing of violence, irresponsible sex, and chemical addiction to urban youth, and his 30+ years of work in the trenches as a champion high school track/football coach and certified violence prevention specialist have earned him the title “Dean of Street Psychology.”

Minister Simmons stated “There is never a boring moment in a “Coach” Powell presentation. His humor, unique insight, experience and empathy make him a highly effective and much sought after educator, master trainer and keynote speaker. We look forward to an inspiring session.”

The public forum will be held on December 12th, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Berkeley Institute. The goal is to empower parents with additional tools to continue to strengthen and surround our children with what they require to be successful no matter what! How do we have all of our youth reach their dreams no matter what their situation or circumstances?

Come out and explore these questions and continue to strengthen family relationships. We are encouraging fathers to attend and join the conversation.

Admission is free and light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP via email to jjwoods@gov.bm or via phone at 294-9291.
