A 75-year-old whose body was found in a public restroom was named by police today.
Elliott Van Putten was discovered “in an unresponsive state” by a member of the public in toilets at the Hamilton Docks, near the junction of Front Street and Court Street, at about 8.10pm on Monday.
A police spokesman said: “Despite life-saving efforts by responding emergency medical technicians, he was pronounced dead at that location by an on call doctor a short time later.”
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and a cause of death had yet to be established.
