Hotel worker’s wrist slashed in robbery
A hotel worker’s wrist was slashed by a robber who stole the man’s phone and wallet, police said yesterday.
The 24-year-old employee was in a back office at the Coco Reef Resort in Paget when he was attacked.
Police said that an intruder came into the room and searched through desk drawers.
The worker, a front desk clerk, struggled with the man, but he escaped with the employee’s smartphone and wallet.
The incident happened about 9.50pm on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said: “During the struggle, the intruder brandished a knife and cut the male hotel employee’s wrist.”
The man was taken by ambulance to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment and was discharged the same day.
His phone was found later by police.
The attacker was said to be brown-complexioned, about 6ft 2in, heavily built and weighing about 300 pounds.
He wore a black Nolan helmet, grey hooded top and dark-coloured long pants.
