Adventists offer Christmas lunch

Charitable act: Bermuda’s Seventh-day Adventist Church, will host its ninth annual Christmas dinner tomorrow

A spot of Christmas cheer will be provided by the Hamilton Seventh-Day Adventist Church tomorrow.

The traditional Christmas turkey lunch, co-sponsored by reinsurance firm Global Atlantic Re Limited, will come with vegetarian options, as well as desserts.

A church spokeswoman said the free Christmas meal was a tradition and now in its ninth year.

She added: “With the current state of the economy, and folks continuing to find themselves unemployed, the numbers grow from year to year.”

The church has also handed out meals for Bermuda Government shift workers, including police, firefighters, EMTs and hospital staff, in recent years.

The meal will be served from noon until 3pm at the church on Hamilton’s King Street.
