Jamaican Association looks to bright 2020

Warm Greetings and Very Best Wishes for a Bright and Prosperous 2020 and the decade of the 2020’s to the Government and people of Bermuda and everyone residing in the lovely Bermuda Islands on behalf of the Jamaican Association of Bermuda (JAB) and Jamaicans in Bermuda.

Speaking on behalf of the Jamaican Association of Bermuda, JAB President Seymour Barclay said we all have a lot to be thankful for as we reflect on 2019. He said, we now look forward eagerly and with firm resolve to a brand new beginning in the decade of the 2020’s, hopefully bringing many blessings, good health, much prosperity, much happiness and an abiding peace for all. May all our New Year’s Resolutions be successful.

He said we would like to thank the many Bermudians and residents who assisted and supported us in one way of another with our projects and initiatives in 2019 and in the past. Although we are truly grateful for all the help we received, we make special mention of the fundraising efforts for the Hayward Family after the recent Union Street fire as this is a major, ongoing project. He said we thank you all in advance and look forward to your continued support and assistance with our ongoing and future projects and initiatives.

JAB President Barclay said that as many of us are aware, Jamaica and Jamaicans have traditionally had strong alliances and bonds with Bermuda and Bermudians over the years in several areas of endeavor and several fields, for instance, education, health, law and law enforcement and the construction and hotel industries respectively.

He concluded by saying that as we welcome the decade of the 2020’s with hope, and much anticipation, let us love one another better, continue to be kind to one another and to be our brother’s keeper. Let us also put ourselves in the best position to take advantage of the exciting technological advancements waiting to be discovered and utilized fully for the betterment of Bermuda.
