Bus route changes for race weekend
The Department of Public Transportation advises the public that due to road closures to accommodate the Royal Gazette Bermuda Triangle Challenge, held from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 January, the following bus route changes will be in effect.
Friday. January 17, 2020 (5:30 - 11:00 pm)
Buses on Routes 1, 2, 7 and 8 will be redirected from Front Street to Spurling Hill then right onto Court Street and a left onto Victoria Street to the Hamilton Central Terminal. Route 3 will not turn left onto Court Street, but will be redirected to turn right onto Court Street, left onto Victoria Street to the Hamilton Central Terminal. Routing changes will be in affect between the hours of 5:30 and 11:00 pm only.
Saturday, January 18, 2020 (8:30 - 11:00 am)
Buses on Route 9 will be redirected from Parson’s Road to turn left on to Glebe Hill, left on to Bishop Spenser, left on to Marsh Folly Road, left on to Cedar Avenue and right on Victoria Street back to Central Terminal. Note that Frog Lane and Prospect will not be serviced between the hours of 8:30 and 11:00 am only. Buses on Routes 3, 10 and 11 are expected to experience delays for the duration of the race.
Sunday, January 19, 2020 (7:45 - 11:00 am)
Buses eastbound on Route 8 may experience some delays between Dockyard and Barnes Corner. Buses traveling westbound on Route 7 will service Middle Road from the Paget stop lights to turn left on to Cobb’s Hill, right on to South Road to Dockyard. South Road will not be serviced between the Paget stop lights and Cobb’s Hill Road by the bus leaving Hamilton at 9:30 am. All buses inbound to Hamilton on Route 7 will proceed as normal but may be slightly delayed as a result of the race movements. Buses on routes 4, 10 and 11 may be slightly delayed as well.
All bus routes that contain portions of the race course may be delayed. Please review the official race courses prior to traveling by clicking here, and plan for delays to prevent disappointment.
