Art exhibition marks 225th anniversary
The City of Hamilton invites the public to an ‘all things Hamilton’ art exhibition opening at the Bermuda Society of Arts in City Hall at 5:00pm on Friday, January 17th; another public celebration to recognize the 225th anniversary of the Corporation of Hamilton.
A call for artwork was launched in November and more than 40 pieces of art have been submitted to the show. Artwork in three categories – Student, Amateur and Professional - were requested and a panel of judges will determine the winning artwork in each category with cash prizes awarded to those artists.
There will also be a People’s Choice Award determined by ballots cast by the public at the gallery throughout the duration of the exhibition.
In the Edinburgh Gallery, artwork from the City’s private collection will be on display.
The exhibition will end on Tuesday, February 4th. Admission to the Bermuda Society of Arts is free of charge.
