Police appealed for witnesses tonight after a motorbike crash victim was found unconscious the middle of a road at the weekend.

A spokesman said that the injured man, from Pembroke, was found lying on Middle Road, Devonshire, near the junction with Montpelier Road, at about 8.40pm on Friday.

The 29-year-old was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment for what was believed to be a broken foot.

The spokesman said that the rider’s damaged bike was found next to him near the US Consulate General offices.

But he added that there was no debris or evidence of a crash.

The spokesman said: “Motorcycle debris thought to be from this incident was later found along Frog Lane, Devonshire, near the National Sports Centre’s North Field.”
