Businesswomen Susan Pateras-Maybury and Suzanne Khan have launched The Art of You, a movement to help women become their best selves.

The Art of You’s first event, a three-day women’s transformation series, will be held from March 20 to 22 at the Elbow Beach Resort.

The weekend will include dinner, a mixer, a full day of transformational sessions, and a networking vendor marketplace where women can interact directly with the day’s session leaders and panellists.

The series will conclude with a beachside “Brand You Brunch”, hosted by the team at The Brand Lion, a local brand communications agency.

“The Art of You is a Bermuda-based movement with global reach grounded in the transformation of women as one of its founding principles,” said Zina Malcolm, of Brand Lion.

Maryam Myika Day, a Broadway actress, screenwriter and reinvention strategist, will present a keynote address.

Ms Day will share the insight she has developed to help convert adversity into a tool of reinvention.

“At the beginning of my fourth decade, I faced the hardest challenge of my life to date, and was forced to turn my pain into power,” Ms Day said.

“In Bermuda, I look forward to sharing the power of the soul shift and outline the steps I took to activate my own transformation, the same steps you can take for yourself.”

A range of speakers, facilitators and panellists will also share their personal experiences and expertise across various topics including physical and emotional wellness, financial health, overcoming fear and projecting your voice, finding your purpose and learning the art of reinvention. “As international women’s history month approaches, I wanted to honour that history by supporting the creation of a future filled with strong, empowered, and resilient women,” Ms Pateras-Maybury said.

“I had a vision of an intimate, interactive weekend experience for women of all backgrounds that would go beyond inspiration. The driving force of the vision was to not just inspire but equip women with specific tools and a circle of support that will help them design the lives that they imagine.

“I have benefited tremendously over the years, both personally and professionally, from women and men who provide me with insights, access, support, motivation, feedback and the tools needed to live a life that’s full and designed on my own terms. I felt 2020 was the time to share those lessons and stories and invite others to join my circle.”

Ms Khan said there is a beautiful transformation that takes place when women are furnished with the right tools.

“The Art of You is designed to provide attendees with the tools to take immediate, inspired action in designing the life they imagine incorporating all aspects of wellbeing: professional, personal, physical, mental and financial,” she said.

“I am honoured to join the collective energy of men and women who believe in the expansion of women.

“I sit in gratitude for the circle that encourages and inspires but also teaches and advises me and am excited to open that circle up to my community.”
