Jumping World Challenge affected by Covid-19
The Bermuda Equestrian Federation have confirmed the third round of the FEI Jumping World Challenge has been postponed due to the worldwide threat of Covid-19.
The event was due to take place on March 29 at the National Equestrian Centre, however, due to the growing threat of the virus — of which there are no confirmed cases on island as of yet — with more than 175,500 confirmed positive tests and 6,500 deaths worldwide a decision was taken out of precaution.
“Due to the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and in support of the recommendations of the Bermuda Government as well as local and international sporting bodies, competition No 3 of the 2020 FEI Jumping World Challenge and BEF support show, both scheduled to be held on Sunday, March 29 at the National Equestrian Centre, have been postponed,” said the Federation in a statement.
Competitions one and two were held on February 15 and March 7. The Bermuda Equestrian Federation have until the end of the year in which to host the third competition.
