Renew your vehicle licences online
People with vehicle licences due to expire this week should renew their licences online, the transport ministry said today.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Tourism and Transport said: “Vehicle owners that hold a valid TCD vehicle examination pass certificate and required to renew their vehicle licences by March 31 can do so by following a two step procedure.
“First, renew your vehicle insurance by contacting your insurance provider online or by phone.
“Second, visit eTCD at https://www.etcd.gov.bm/index_ssl.htm to register and pay for your vehicle licence online.”
Government has extended the time frame for people who need to re-licence heavy trucks to April 30, but truck owners must keep the vehicle’s insurance up-to-date.
The spokesman said: “On completion of the licencing process, a new registration certificate cannot be provided.”
But he added that the TCD system would be updated to reflect that vehicles were road legal.
The spokesman said: “The public is also advised that due to the office being closed, owners of vehicles that require TCD inspection pass certificates before relicensing will be unable to get their vehicles examined.
“However, as a priority these vehicle owners are advised to make every effort to have their vehicles insured.”
The spokesman said TCD will reassess their procedures on Friday and update the public.
