Firefighters tackled a blaze in a car in Pembroke.

The vehicle was fully alight, near to a two-storey home, when a fire truck arrived at the scene shortly before 11.50pm on Thursday.

A Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters quickly extinguished the vehicle fire. There was minimal damage to the structure near the window above the fire.”

The spokesman added that the cause of the fire was under investigation by the fire service and police.

Earlier on Thursday, firefighters forced their way into a car to rescue an unconscious man trapped inside.

That incident happened on North Shore Road, Devonshire, just before 11.30pm.

The spokesman said: “Firefighters forced entry into the vehicle to render medical care.”
