Three iPads for autism centre

Great gift: Patrice Minors, the chairwoman of the Committee of 25, presents Andrew Lightbourne, 8, with one of three iPads and cases it donated to Tomorrow’s Voices (Photograph by Akil Simmons)

A charity has donated three ipads and cases to a centre set up to help children and young people with autism.

The Committee of 25 gave the devices to Tomorrow’s Voices, an autism early intervention specialist.

Jahnae Harvey, the senior behaviour therapist at the organisation, was “very grateful” for the donation.

She said: “The ipads allow our clients to practise social and leisure skills and are tools for academic enrichment as well as a source of reinforcement.”

Clients of the organisation include people with autism and/or other developmental disabilities aged from 2 upward to 20-plus.

The Committee of 25 supports children with special or medical needs in Bermuda.
