Some people tested for the coronavirus today will have to be recalled because of a problem with a batch of samples.

The tests were carried out at Modern Mart in Paget and were said to have all been carried out on residents.

A health ministry spokeswoman said: “The problem did not affect travellers’ testing — however, we are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to the affected persons.”

The ministry did not say how many people had been affected by the “isolated coldchain problem.

The news came as 919 tests came back to health officials and all were clear.

Bermuda has had 175 confirmed cases and 158 have recovered.

There are eight active cases, all being monitored by health officials and none are in hospital.

The death toll related to the disease remains at nine.

Bermuda’s country status is “sporadic cases” and the seven-day average of the real time reproduction number is less than 1.
