ACT and Cock & Feather recorded comfortable Commercial Division softball wins on Tuesday night as Team Xerox edged by Snow Balls 12-11 in the closest
ACT stopped Sandys Sports Club 20-1 after just five innings as the mercy rule took effect. Richard Davidge had a perfect three-for-three and Jon Smith went two-for-three for the winners. Davidge hit two homers and four RBI while Smith had one home run, a triple and five RBI. Terry Corday had a perfect two-for-two in a losing cause.
Scott Corday was the winning pitcher while Terry Corday suffered the loss.
Dave Steiert's clutch two-out, two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh secured the Team Xerox win over Snow Balls as pitcher Ralph DePalma chipped in with three-for-four with the bat.
Claude Guay had a perfect four-for-four for Snow Balls while Sylvain Fontaine went two-for-four. Mario Valcourt was the losing pitcher.
Cock & Feather thrashed Fidelity Flashers 16-5 with Jerry McCormick having a perfect five-for-five and Roberto Maraghua a perfect three-for-three for the winners. In a losing cause Kirk Caza went two-for-two and Mike Jones two-for-three.
