It was to last only three minutes, however, as Sean Dill was in position to fire home from close range after the visitors failed to adequately deal with a low cross by Darren Dowling, following good work down the left wing.

With the scores level, the home side continued their dominance but another breakaway attack nearly cost them dear when centre-back Desmond Burgess was seen to handle while scrambling around on the floor in his own penalty area.

Referee Anthony Mouchette wasn?t interested, nor did he appear to be just before the break when Dowling squared up to Ernest Signor. It was mostly handbags, but one of the players was definitely seen to kick out the other ? a yellow for Dowling was the sum total of the punishment.

After the break, Parish took the game to Eagles a little more but were out-skilled and out-muscled on many occasions by the home side?s heady mixture of hefty challenges and ballerina twists and turns.

Just after the hour, good work by Jahni Butterfield saw the ball slipped through to Wilson, whose low drive from ten-yards gave the home side the deserved lead. His strike from just inside the left-hand edge of the Parish penalty area was too good, and too strong, to give the ?keeper any chance.

Eagles keeper Ian Raynor was then hugged by defenders at the other end after a near-miraculous one-handed save from a low drive by Clevon Hill, but it was at the other end where most action took place, with Eagles spurning further opportunities to make the game safe.

Lamaul Crofton beat a despairing offside trap with eight minutes to go, and summed up the Eagles? day by getting forced wide by the ?keeper before slicing his effort harmlessly wide.
