Easy for Augustus
Daniel Augustus cruised to an eight-shot win in the latest round of the Jack Daniels Tour.
The Port Royal employee used all his local knowledge on the rock-hard greens to post a three-over par 74.
Tucker's Point professional Paul Adams bagged a birdie on the last to grab a share of second alongside Twilton Smith, while outgoing Riddell's Bay professional Brian Morris finished fourth with an 83.
Augustus attributed his win to a red-hot putter, which got him out of trouble on several occasions.
"It was a struggle but I made a 10-footer on 15 for bogey that could have made my round turn real ugly," said Augustus.
"And then I made three consecutive five-footers coming in to hold my round together.
"The round could have got away from me but some key putts kept me in the game. Another two 15ft putts on 11 and 12 were momentum boosters. It wasn't the best performance but I had to grind it out somehow."
