A chanceless David Hemp half century guided Bermuda safely to a nine wicket thrashing of Denmark at Isak Steyl stadium today.

Hemp cracked an ubeaten 76 off 105 balls in 131 minutes and shared in stands of 54 with Fiqre Crockwell (36) and 53 with Stephen Outerbridge who stroked 33 not out to keep Bermuda's World Cup qualifying hopes alive.

The ex-Glamorgan skipper hit seven boundaries, including a massive six off fast bowler Henrik Hansen over square leg.

Left-arm spinner Bashir Shah claimed the sole Bermuda wicket to fall, that of Crockwell in the 24th over.

Earlier off-spinner Rodney Trott (four for 30) and swing bowler Janeiro Tucker (three for 29) shared seven wickets between them.

Seamer Jacobi Robinson, in for fast bowler Stefan Kelly, seized two for 24 while skipper Irving Romaine had one for 23.

Middle order bat Bobby Chawla topped the Denmark batting, scoring 24 off 60 balls.

Bermuda suffered a blow when pace bowler George O'Brien left the field with a kneeninjured towards the end of the first innings and is now in doubt for Monday's crucial match with Kenya. Glenn Blakeney also left the pitch with a suspected hand injury after spilling a catch off the bowling of rodney trott in the covers in the 47th over.
