Bermuda beaten again at lacrosse Worlds

Bermuda?s difficult debut at the World Lacrosse Championships continued yesterday as they lost their fourth straight game by a significant margin in Ontario, Canada.

Playing in the Worlds? development group, Bermuda lost 9-3 to Latvia ? despite taking an early lead through Brett Corday.

The Latvians scored two in quick succession after going behind before a Matt Clifford strike 15 minutes in evened things up briefly for the Island team.

But after taking the lead once again with just two minutes to go in the first quarter, the Latvians never looked back, using their superior fitness to batter a tired Bermuda in the latter stages.

Bermuda take on New Zealand this morning in their first play-off game ? another side who have yet to register a victory in the competition.
