Mark Trott has officially been "relieved" of his duties as chairman of Bermuda Football Association's (BFA) technical committee, The Royal Gazette can reveal.

The long -serving BFA executive was sacked by president Larry Mussenden who, while declining to elaborate on the matter, did confirm Trott was longer in charge of the association's nerve centre.

"I can tell you that Mr.Trott is no longer chairman of the technical committee and that is all I am prepared to comment at this moment," Mussenden said. "It was not an executive decision but a decision made by the president."

Asked who would be a suitable replacement, Mussenden replied: "We will not comment on that subject at this particular point in time, but will do so in due course."

When contacted, Trott also refused to divulge the conditions for his shock and sudden dismissal as technical committee boss.

"I have no comment to make, none whatsoever," he said. "When the time is appropriate for me to talk, I will. But right now I have no comment to make."
