Bromby ahead in Cup regatta

Bermuda sailing star Peter Bromby leapt into the lead on the penultimate day of the Bacardi Cup yesterday.
The Star Class skipper and two-time winner of the event triumphed in the fifth race in Miami, Florida, to take over the top spot with a low score of 12 points with one drop. He and crew Rick Peters of the USA have registered results of third, 19th, second and sixth in their previous four races at the US Sailing Center.
They hold a slim advantage over American pair Mark Mendelblatt and Mark Strube who are listed on 12.0001 points. Howie Shiebler of California and crew Anson Stookey are third with 17 points. The regatta ends with one more race today.
