Bromby moves into top five

Peter Bromby continues to fare the best of the Bermudian trio competing in the Olympic Sailing World Championships.

The Star class sailor moved up to fifth overall yesterday with 39 points from eight races as the regatta progressed in Cadiz, Spain.

Accompanied by Martin Siese as his crew, Bromby notched a sixth and eighth place in yesterday's two races. The British duo of Iain Percy and Steven Mitchell lead the Star class, in which 83 crews are entered, with the low score of ten points.

Meanwhile, Yngling specialist Paula Lewin dropped one position to ninth with a total of 103 points from ten races.

She finished 26th and 20th in yesterday's races. Germany's Ulrike Schuemann leads the event with 49 points.

Zander Kirkland is now 130th after four races in the Laser class, placing 32nd and 34th in competition yesterday. The Laser fleet is divided into four groups.
