Home side Colts salvaged a valuable point from this lacklustre match at White Hill, but it will not save them from the agony of participating in the First Division next season.

It is almost inevitable that Eagles will be handed the three points from their abandoned 8-1 mauling of Parish, leaving the Devonshire side one point adrift of safety with Somerset still having a game to play.

While North Village should have won the Premier Division match-up by a convincing margin, they ended the day on a low when their inability to collect maximum points ensured them of no better than a mere firth place finish - a rather sorry note for the defending champions and their coach Scott Morton.

Overall the game was played at a painstakingly low level with neither goalkeeper, Under-17 national squad player Daniel Johnson for Village and Kevin Bean for Colts, being tested by the attacks.

With little enterprising or attacking play, the game was rather dull throughout although Village held territorial play for the majority of the time while Colts, even during brief spells when they pinned down the opposing defence, never looked capable of emerging victors.

Village's best chance came after eight minutes when centre-back McKonnen Hollis cleared a shot by Kimande Binns off the goal line following a right wing corner.

Colts responded five minutes later but forward Quincy Aberdeen's soft volley was well covered by young Johnson.

For the rest of the half, Village called the tune but were inept when play reached the penalty box, Quincy Paynter and Dwight Warren showing frustration by resorting to taking long-range shots which finished well off target.

Colts' largest accomplishments came from corners but Johnson advanced off his goal line to slap two curling shots away.

The trend continued for much of the second half although Colts played with more intensity in patches.

With Village clearly lacking up front, coach Morton introduced Mackie Crane and Ralph Bean for Kaiwon Dill and Quincy Paynter but the overall team had lost its rhythm with the game now 70 minutes old.

Keith Jennings headed a Keishon Bean free kick narrowly over from nine yards after 78 minutes in a close call for Village, but by then an uninspiring draw always seemed to be the most likely result.
