Cougars, Zebras in all-Premier FA Cup clash

Devonshire Cougars will tackle PHC in the only all-Premier Division clash in the second round of the FA Cup following yesterday's draw.

Albert Smith's men got by Young Men's Social Club in the previous round 4-2, but if PHC coach Mark Wade saw the game it will have given him reason for optimism.

Cougars went two goals up but were dragged back to 2-2 by their plucky rivals before sealing the game late on.

PHC figured in one of the key games of round one, seeing off Devonshire Colts 3-2.

Cup holders North Village, who trounced Tuff Dogs 14-0 in the first round, will be hoping for more goals when they tackle MR Onions.

Premier Division Dandy Town, who needed a replay to get past Boulevard, take on Paget, conquerors of Bermuda Pest Control.

In other ties Prospect meet Ireland Rangers, St.George's face Somerset Bridge, Wolves play Key West Rangers and Somerset host BAA.

All matches are scheduled for January 19 with 2.30 p.m. kick-offs.

Full cup draw: Prospect United v Ireland Rangers (Police Field); North Village v MR Onions (Bernard Park); Devonshire Cougars v PHC (Devonshire Rec.); St. George's v Somerset Bridge (Wellington Oval); Paget v Dandy Town (White Hill Field); Wolves v Key West Rangers (BAA); Somerset v BAA (Somerset CC). Southampton Rangers received a bye.

Last night's Premier Division match between Devonshire Cougars and Boulevard at Devonshire Rec. was called off yesterday afternoon due to a waterlogged pitch.

The game has been moved to tomorrow with a 3 p.m. kick-off at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Sunday's scheduled Premier clash between PHC and North Village at Somerset Cricket Club has been postponed until further notice due to the death of one of Somerset's oldest members. Bermuda Football Association are yet to reschedule the game but it is thought it will be played in midweek.
