Delay to start of season

The football season will not get underway until at least mid-September, it was announced yesterday.

Due to women's national team commitments, a lack of field availability and the men's national team's participation in the Digicel Cup later next month in the US Virgin Islands, the eagerly-awaited start of the year has been put back.

The Charity Cup, originally provisionally scheduled for September 9, is likely to be either the following week or even the week after, September 23.

The Premier Division is likely to start the first week of October with the Martonmere Cup taking place some time after that.

More details are expected from the Bermuda Football Association later in the week.
