First Division Round-up
Paget 1 St. David's 0
St.David's' unbeaten win streak came to a grinding halt at White Hill Field yesterday as nearest rivals Paget narrowed the gap on their East End rivals.
With 12 minutes to go in this top-of-the-table clash, newly installed player/coach Marvin Belboda found then net to earn Lions maximum points.
Belboda evaded his marker and beat the 'keeper with a firm, low drive.
St. George's 2 Prospect United 3
Prospect pulled off the upset of the day when they handed St.George's a 3-2 loss at Wellington Oval.
Najee Woods and DeForest Evans converted midway through the first half only for the home team to reduce the deficit just before the half via a Troy Hall spot kick.
Prospect managed to hold St.George's at bay until near the end of regulation when Dean Bailey finally equalised.
The joy, though, would be short-lived as John Richmond capitalised on a free kick in the 89th minute.
Wolves 4 Hamilton Parish 1
Wolves continued to move up the standings while Parish again found themselves on the wrong end of a thrashing at the Den yesterday.
A Vince Minors brace and additional strikes from Hobte Burrows and Kemo Smith assured Wolves maximum points while Parish hit back via a Dwayne Tavares spot kick.
Social Club 6 Somerset Eagles 2
Social Club stormed to their first win of the season by thrashing Somerset Eagles at Bernard Park.
Dean Bean led the home team's attack with a hat-trick while Eric Dunkley added two and Marqus Basden one.
Eagles replied though a pair of Ian Mullins goals.
The match between X Roads Warriors and Southampton Rangers scheduled for Garrison Field did not get underway due to an unmarked pitch.
