Goal is a happy return for Goater
Shaun Goater celebrated his birthday in the best possible way yesterday, scoring for Manchester City's reserves.
The 33-year-old is no doubt hoping for a belated present from City manager Kevin Keegan this weekend when the Blues play Blackburn Rovers in the Premiership.
Goater is currently third choice striker behind Robbie Fowler and Nicolas Anelka but staked his case for at least a bit part in Saturday's clash with City's goal in the 2-1 reverse against Bolton yesterday.
Cit went 2-0 down after goals by Jonathan Walters and Jermaine Johnson.
Goater got his name on the scoresheet in the 69th minute in typical fashion, poking home after a Jon Macken effort from a City corner had hit the bar.
Devonshire Cougars and Somerset Trojans will know tonight who they face in the FA Cup semifinals.
The quarter-final replays - Southampton Rangers versus Prospect and Dandy Town versus North Village - have been rescheduled for this evening at Devonshire Rec.
Following 1-1 draws in both fixtures on Sunday, replays were originally slated for last night. However, rainy weather caused a postponement. The First Division sides clash at 7 p.m. with Town and Village at 9 p.m.
