Good to be playing a full game for a change
It was great to get a full 90 minutes under my belt after so long just coming off the bench.
I said to the gaffer before Monday's game that I though I'd be good to play for maybe an hour or 70 minutes but in the end we decided it would be better for my fitness to go for the whole 90.
I am still not quite back up to the level I'd want to be at, but I am certainly getting closer every game.
Playing 90 minutes was no problem in the end, I moved well and thought I had a decent game ? although, of course, I was unhappy with the result.
We knew it was going to be tough against Southampton and we would probably have been happy with 2-1 or something like that, but to go down 3-0 comes across as a bit of thrashing.
It is one of those moments as a player when you don't really want to wake up the next day, you always feel embarrassed ? you feel that you have let down the fans.
Although it was disappointing for the team, I am happy with my performance.
It was good to get through the 90 and I probably had a couple of decent chances.
I had a shot from outside the box blocked in the first half and then just before the break the keeper pushed a header round the post.
I got on the end of the cross but I was moving away from goal so I couldn't get a lot on it, but I headed down and it skidded off the ground and the keeper just got to it.
Other than that, I didn't really get any chances to make an impression.
And it was a shame I didn't get to see their boss Harry Redknapp after the game. He is a regular visitor to Bermuda and when I have bumped into him in the past, I have always had a little chat with him about home.
I was hoping to speak to him but I never got the chance ? we would probably have had our usual chat where he tells me about his favourite places on the Island and I normally end up agreeing with him about them.

It looks like I will be staying in the line up for the near future because our striker Freddy Eastwood is out suspended (for three games, increased to four after an unsuccessful appeal).
I think he will have learnt a lot from the experience, he got himself sent off pushing an opponent and we all know you just can't raise your hands any more.
It was a silly sending off and he knows that, and he will probably be a player for it in the future ? I doubt he will be doing anything like that again for a while.
I just hope it doesn't upset him too much. Sometimes players can't get back into the rhythm of it all straight away after missing a few games, it is a shame for the lad because he scored earlier in that match and was playing well so far this season.
It means I will be probably playing alongside Wayne Gray, who is actually a very similar player to myself.
He is very unselfish and runs a lot of the hard yards that can make all the difference for a side. He does the leg work that can get a team results even if it doesn't earn him a lot of recognition.
My aim will be to try to bring him into the game more and get him to go into the box as much as possible ? hopefully we will be able to bring out the best in each other.
We have got some hard work coming up this weekend because we play twice in four days, which will be a real test for my fitness.
There is a trip to Scunthorpe on Friday and then we have Colchester at home on the Bank Holiday Monday.
