Hurdle banned for a year
Dandy Town's Kevin Hurdle has been banned for one year following a BFA Disciplinary Committee hearing into an incident during a league fixture back in October.
Hurdle was charged with unsportsmanlike conduct after the October 27 league match against Somerset Trojans, when he was alleged to have struck an official.
Other players summoned before the disciplinary committee were Social Club's Yuseff Richardson, who was suspended for five matches for dousing fans with water during his team's FA Cup first round match against Wolves. He was also placed on probation for the duration of the season.
Somerset Eagles' Jazane Smith was also slapped with a three-match suspension for persistent foul and abusive language after being sent packing by the referee during an October 14 clash against Hamilton Parish.
Hurdle's ban will come as a major blow to Town coach Andrew Bascome, who already has his hands full this season with a string of injury problems.
Somerset Eagles will be without Smith for their FA Cup second round derby against Somerset this Sunday and their all-important clash against fellow First Division promotion contenders Boulevard on December 9.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen what action will be meted out to Wolves' Chae Simmons for his November 20 tirade during a match against St. George's at BAA Field. Simmons was sent off in that match.
