Island pair head to ICC meet
Bermuda Cricket Board of Control (BCBC) will be represented by their president and treasurer - Reggie Pearman and Neil Speight respectively - at the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Executive Meeting later this month.
Pearman will leave here on June 22 to join Speight in London, England, for the annual conference of cricket's world governing body. The session is a meeting of the ICC's full and associate members, with Bermuda belonging to the latter category.
The BCBC officials will participate in a meeting with fellow associate members before the whole ICC body comes together for the main session.
"We are hoping we can get Cayman Islands in (as an associate member). Last year they were turned down and we had seconded their nomination for associate membership. Hopefully, we can get that through this year.
"That's the priority as far as the associates are concerned," said Pearman, regarding matters on the agenda.
Bermuda will also be interested in the decision on the venue for next year's World League tournament which is being held for associate nations ranked from seven to 12.
The United States is apparently the first choice as tournament hosts but, according to Internet reports, Bermuda and five other cricket-playing countries could be headed to Nepal, to play in the shadows of the Himalayas, if the United States declines to hold the competition.
