Jamaicans retain KO trophy
Lloyd Morrison hit an unbeaten half century to help steer Jamaican Association, the holders, to a four-wicket victory over Forties in the Commercial Cricket League's 40-overs-a-side knockout final at Sea Breeze Oval yesterday.
Skipper Gordon Campbell struck 71 and added 102 for the second wicket with Brian Brangman (31) but league champions Forties failed to capitalise on the stand and lost their last nine wickets for 50 runs as they crumbled to 176 all out in the final over, Ian Coke picking up four for 27 from eight overs.
Morrison and Ralston Wright, who smashed 26 not out, added an unbroken 31 for the seventh wicket as the Jamaicans, who coasted to 94 for two after 20 overs, reached their target with three overs to spare.
Scores: Forties 176 in 39.5 overs (G.Campbell 71, B.Brangman 31; I.Coke 4-27, J.Lindo 2-24), Jamaican Association 177-6 in 37 overs (L.Morrison 52 not out, R.Wright 26 not out, C.Barrett 23; D.Campbell 2-30, D.DeSilva 2-40).
