Xavier James made the second round of 100 metres at the World University Games in Daegu, South Korea.

James, who had a miserable time at the Pan American Games in the Dominican Republic recently, failing to get further than the first round in both the 100 metres and 200 metres, came fifth in his heat on Monday clocking 10.69 seconds. Only the top four in each of the four heats advanced.

The Bermudian had come third in heat four of the first round, finishing in a time of 10.73.

James is scheduled to compete in the 200 metres today. He runs in lane five of heat four.
