Khano on TV as Revs take on United
It may be the off-season in Bermuda but local soccer fans can turn to Fox Sports World tonight to watch one of their own.
Khano Smith is slated to start for the third game in succession as New England Revolution play away to DC United in the Major Soccer League, kicking off at 8.30 p.m. Bermuda time.
The 24-year-old striker, who scored in the 17th minute of his first start two weekends ago against Kansas City Wizards, is again expected to link with Pat Noonan in attack as the latter's regular partner Taylor Twellman is still on the mend from a recent quadricep injury.
Smith, wearing the number 32 jersey, will have extra incentive to impress as his mother, Deborah, and other relatives and friends will be attending the match.
Enjoying an unbeaten run so far this season, the Revolution - who sit atop the Eastern Conference with 25 points from 11 matches - will be looking to extend their three-point advantage over nearest rivals Chicago Fire when they take to RFK Stadium in Washington DC.
By contrast, DC United are struggling on 16 points from 12 games, having split their results evenly with four wins, draws and losses to be second-last in the six-team standings.
Teenage sensation Freddy Adu is among the club's star players but he is currently away representing the USA's Under-20 team at the FIFA World Youth Championships.
