Local riders third in Carib event

Bermuda's riders finished third in the Caribbean Equestrian Association's Junior Jumping Competition last weekend.

The defending champions were beaten in their home leg of the year-long event by Cayman and Barbados, who finished first with nine points.

Olivia Gracie finished joint second in the event staged at the National Equestrian Centre at Vesey Street but Kyle Hassell's joint fifth dropped Bermuda down to the bottom position.

The team still have to compete in Antigua later this year in the overall event in which six teams from across the region are competing, taking part in three events each, one of which they host.

Bermudian Meghan Diel, riding Sir Gallahad, finished first in the unofficial Under-12 event while Stephanie Kemp, on Playboy, finished second.
