Looking to double up with a derby day win
We will be aiming for a rare double on Sunday when we travel across the city to take on our rivals Manchester United.
We beat them 3-1 at Maine Road earlier this season, with me scoring two of the goals - the last one the 100th of my City career.
Although we bought Robbie Fowler before the transfer window closed at the end of last month I am still hoping that I will get to play a part in some, if not all, of the game.
With the United game in mind last night I was in the reserve team that was set to take on Bradford City. Unfortunately, for the second day in a row the match was called off because of the severe weather the north of England is suffering at the moment.
It's disappointing because I had asked if I could play in the second string so that I could keep myself fit.
My last full game was against Newcastle a couple of weeks ago and since then I have been on the bench. If you are not playing regularly you can lose your sharpness and I want to be 100 percent ready for when I am called upon.
I want to keep myself in Kevin Keegan's thoughts and, despite not playing last night, will be doing my utmost to give him the kind of selection headache that manager's like.
Saturday's result against West Brom was a disappointing one. We lost 2-1 at home to the side who at the time were bottom of the Premiership and so we will be looking to bounce back on Sunday.
It will probably be one of the most difficult games of the season, but we were able to find some weaknesses last time and we will look to do the same at their place.
When they came to Maine Road I think we caught them at a good time for us. They were not in the best of form and although they put out a very strong side they did not appear to have the belief you normally associate with Sir Alex Ferguson's side - as a result we were able to take advantage of that.
I am not sure what our gameplan will be, but we will probably play differently, more cautiously, than if we were at home.
In the last full game I played against Newcastle at St. James' Park we didn't get the chance to put our plan into action as we found ourselves a goal down after just ten seconds. As a result we had to be more adventurous from the off in a bid to get ourselves back into the game.
If we play to our strengths then we are more than capable of getting something positive from the match.
We need to play to a tempo and not allow them to settle down. We cannot let them start knocking the ball around and give them the time to pick out which pass they want to make. We have to give them as little time on the ball as possible.
Combined with that we all have to be playing to the best our of ability. We cannot afford to have one or two players off their game, especially when we are going to Old Trafford when United are in the form that they are in.
