Luck of the draw favours the Cougars

Devonshire Cougars profited handsomely from yesterday's FA Challenge Cup semifinal draw held at Bermuda Football Association.

Pitted against Commercial side Key West Rangers during the previous round, the luck of the draw continued to fancy Albert Smith's team who avoided meeting a rival Premier Division club in the next round and will now face Prospect, the winner of one of last night's two FA quarterfinal replays, on March 9 at Somerset Cricket Club.

Perennial FA Cup giants Somerset Trojans have been pitted against Cup holders North Village, winner of last night's other quarterfinal rematch, in a match scheduled for March 13 at a venue still to be determined.

Cougars' contest against against Prospect has all the makings of an epic David versus Goliath showdown.

Only last Sunday, the Premier Division league title contenders were forced to dig deep into their reserves before finally disposing of Commercial side Key West Rangers 5-1 with a late flurry of goals in the second-period of extra-time during FA Cup quarterfinal action at the Den.

Meanwhile, during the women's FA Cup semifinal draw, also held yesterday, Prospect were paired against Hemisphere Royals for a March 9 bout at Somerset Cricket Club, while Dandy Stars will tackle PHC on March 13 at a venue to yet to be determined.
