Moulder makes his mark

Chris Moulder, one of the stars of Bermuda's Under-17 soccer team, may be about to step up a grade as he seeks to follow in the footsteps of Shaun Goater and Kyle Lightbourne.

The teenager has been taken on by Bournemouth of the English Second Division and his performances for the club's youth set-up have impressed coach Joe Roach.

Moulder, who plays in defence for his country, has been played in midfield and as a striker for the Cherries.

"He received one or two injuries which slowed down the development process slightly," said Roach, youth development and education officer at the club. "(But) he did spend some time training with the senior squad for one week and did OK.

"I would like to think an opportunity to play a reserve fixture may be not to far off - (but) that selection is obviously out of my hands. The game is obviously different here and it would take him time to get used to."
