John Barry Nusum?s season is over and his future is uncertain.

The Bermudian striker?s first year of indoor football came to an abrupt halt on Sunday night as his Philadelphia KiXX were turfed out of the play-off semi-finals by Cleveland Force.

Nusum scored a power-play goal to bring the score to 5-6 in the second game, but his side were beaten 10-6 and ? following a 6-3 home loss on Friday in which Nusum also bagged a strike ? the play-off dream is now over.

And Nusum will face some tough decisions about his future and who to play for next ? but only after he has taken ?about a week or two off to help my body recover?.

Originally Nusum went to the KiXX from the A-league Toronto Lynx only on loan, but the seasons have overlapped and the Canadian side are already a handful of games into their new season.

Although players have returned late in the past from indoor duty, Nusum is no longer named on the squad list on the Lynx website and admits he doesn?t know what is happening ? nor whether he will be back with the KiXX next year, despite making the league?s unofficial Rookie of the Year shortlist.

?To be honest, at the moment I can?t really say what is going on,? said Nusum, who scored 30 goals in 33 games in his first season in the Major Indoor Soccer League.

?A lot of things are up in the air at the moment and I haven?t sorted anything out. There are some things in the pipeline but I am going to have some time off and then I will be able to talk about it then, we have only just finished our season and it is too early to talk about what comes next.?

When asked if he would return to the KiXX next year, Nusum replied: ?I don?t know at the moment.?

For Nusum, the move indoors has proved a fruitful one, with the powerful striker adapting quickly to the new game and scoring at will.

Although the long-term career prospects may not be as bright as with a Major League Soccer team, he has certainly enjoyed his first foray into the indoor profession in which veteran David Bascome has prospered over recent years.

?It?s great fun playing indoors,? said Nusum yesterday after flying back from Cleveland.

?It?s like shooting practice. You get loads of chances to score and you hit the back of the net nearly every game. I have really enjoyed it and a few coaches have told me I have a chance of getting Rookie of the Year, which would be great.

?I didn?t know what to expect when I came into the league, but things have worked out really well.?
