Pearman and Trott in final

Perennial champion Dwayne Pearman gets chance to pick up another title today when he takes on Andrew Trott in the 36-hole final of the Fritz Reiter/Lobster Pot Bermuda Professional Golfers' Association Matchplay Championships at Belmont Hills.

Ocean View pro Pearman, who edged out fellow veteran Kim Swan at the fourth extra hole in Thursday's quarter-finals, enjoyed a much smoother route to victory yesterday as he dismissed defending champion Chris Smith five and four.

Trott, the pro at Tucker's Point who dismissed Chaka DeSilva on Thursday, also encountered few problems as he recorded a four and three victory over Belmont's Twilton Smith.

Pearman and Trott will begin their marathon final at 7.30 this morning, taking a break for lunch in between rounds.
