Rangers swamped as Paget run riot
X Roads 3 St. David?s 2
X Roads stunned St David?s in this Shield clash at Wellington Oval yesterday with Khomeini Talbot snatching the winner seven minutes from the final whistle.
Beating the First Division leaders had to be a big boost for sixth-placed X Roads who were competitive from start to finish in this contest.
Anthony Burchall put the East Enders ahead after just seven minutes but X Roads hit back almost immediately with Nashon Smith netting three minutes later and then Barry Gibbons gave them a 2-1 lead at the interval with his 37th minute strike.
St. David?s fought back bravely when play re-started with Angelo Cannonier levelling the scores after 52 minutes and just when extra-time seemed to be looming Talbot came up with what proved to be the clincher.
Note: The other Shield tie between Social Club abd Wolves, scheduled for St. John?s Field, was postponed.
