Rec off to solid start in season opener

Lightbourne bowled well during a limited spell, taking one wicket for five runs off four overs with two maidens, but Somerset were able to coast to their winning target of 85.

Wendell White, who was Lightbourne?s lone victim, top scored for Somerset with 20 while Azim Pitcher followed on 17.

Kevin Tucker was the pick of the PHC bowlers with four wickets for 34 runs off eight overs while Cal Waldron claimed one for 24 off eight overs.

Earlier Kevin Dill struck 31 to lead PHC?s batting while Jeremy Fray contributed 10.

Shane Hollis and Kenny Maybury combined to take eight wickets, Hollis finishing with four for 19 off eight overs and Maybury taking four for 30 off 6.5 overs.
