Scotland in final

Scotland booked their place in Wednesday?s World One-Day League final with a convincing 77-run victory over Kenya at the Nairobi Gymkhana yesterday, but the hosts are still favourites to join them in the tournament finale.

Kenya can guarantee their place in the final by beating Canada in the last match today, but even if they lose they would still most likely advance with a superior run rate.

Canada kept their hopes alive by beating Ireland by six wickets in a high-scoring match at the Jaffrey?s ground yesterday while Holland still have an outside chance of making the final following their eight-wicket defeat of Bermuda.

Lifted by openers David Watts (58) and Majid Haq (71) as well as 58 from Gavin Hamilton, Scotland put on 254 in their 50 overs and then skittled Kenya out for 177 in 46 overs. Thomas Odoyo top scored for the home team with 53 while John Blain took three for 28 off eight overs and Haq three for 26 off nine overs.

Canada looked to be heading for defeat when Ireland smashed 308 for seven in their 50 overs with Eoin Morgan stroking 115.But the Canadians were always on top of the run chase, reaching the target in 49.4 overs thanks to 122 from Ashish Bagai and an unbeaten 60 from Qaiser Ali.
