The Bermuda Open champion carded a disappointing three-over par 75 yesterday in the tournament?s first round, played on the 6,720 yard Brookside Country Club course.
He found himself tied for 129th place at Press time ? some 11 shots off the lead held by American Brian Guetz on eight under. A total of 67 players out of a field of 144 had shot under par at this stage.
Sims is in serious danger of missing three consecutive cuts in his opening three tournaments on tour ? despite saying last week that he was confident he had made all the necessary adjustments to his mis-firing swing.
He tees off in his second round today at 5 p.m Bermuda time.
